My First Pop-Up Bakery—Right in Front of My Home!
This weekend, something really special happened—I opened my very first pop-up bakery, and I did it right in front of my own home. It was equal parts nerve-wracking and exciting, but to my surprise (and absolute joy), it turned out to be a huge success!
For weeks I had been planning, baking, labeling, organizing, and second-guessing everything. I wanted it to be perfect—or at least memorable. I focused on the things I love to bake most: fresh sourdough bread, gooey cinnamon rolls, and my lineup of mini cakes—Double Chocolate, Birthday Cake, and Cookies n’ Cream. Each one had its own little moment on the table, displayed with care and a little bit of homemade charm.
But what made the day even more special? My kids were right there with me, helping from start to finish. They helped set up tables, hand , greeted neighbors with big smiles, and even ran the cash box. It felt like a true family effort—something we built together, right here at home.
Neighbors stopped by curious, then left with full bags and happy grins. Some stayed to chat. Others came back for seconds. I even heard a few “I’ll be back next time!” as they walked away with sticky fingers from a warm cinnamon roll.
By the end of the morning, I was tired in the best way. The kind of tired that comes from working hard at something you love and seeing it actually work. My heart was full. My shelves were nearly empty. And I had a new kind of confidence—one that says, “Yes, I can do this.”
Starting small, right in front of my own house, made this dream feel real and manageable. And doing it with my kids by my side made it unforgettable.
Here’s to firsts—and hopefully many more pop-up days ahead. 💛
